Hope Women's Golf Claims Title At Olivet's Kyle Campbell Classic

The Olivet College Invitational was one of the few tournaments the Hope College women's golf team did not win last season. The Flying Dutch reversed course this weekend.

Junior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS), shot a team-low 83 at The Medalist in Marshall on Saturday to help Hope win the 36-hole Kyle Campbell Classic with a total of 667.

The Flying Dutch finished nine strokes ahead of runner-up Olivet in the 13-team event.

Sophomore Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), led Hope in the individual standings. She tied for fourth place (76-86—162).

Gielow, pictured, placed sixth (82-83—165).

Senior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), finished seventh (80-86—166).

Sophomore Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS), tied for 17th (91-84—175).

Sophomore Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS), tied for 23rd (90-89—179).

Hope returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at the first MIAA Jamboree of the season at The Medalist. The Flying Dutch are the defending league champions.
