Hope College golfers Megan Klintworth and Britni Gielow finished first and second to lead the Flying Dutch over Wisconsin-Whitewater and Calvin on Saturday at the Railside Golf Club Division III Invitational in Byron Center.
The Flying Dutch posted a winning team score of 345 to place 17 strokes ahead of Whitewater and 32 ahead of Calvin.
Klintworth, a sophomore from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS), carded a 9-over par 81.
Gielow, a junior from Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS), was one stroke back.
The Flying Dutch rounded out their score with rounds of 91 from senior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), and sophomore Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), and a 101 from sophomore Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS).
Hope's B Team also competed.
Junior Dominique Molinaro of Port Huron, Michigan (Port Huron Northern HS), shot an 87 to tie two other golfers for third place.
Junior Elena Moore of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon East HS), tied for sixth with an 89.
The Flying Dutch also received rounds of 99 from freshman Emily Daenzer of Metamora, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep HS), and 105 from junior Kelsey Duntley of Livonia, Michigan (Stevenson HS).
Hope returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the first MIAA Jamboree of the season at The Medalist in Marshall. The Flying Dutch are looking to repeat as league champions.
