The Hope College ice hockey team earned a split of a weekend series against Grand Valley State University by winning 3-1 on Saturday night at Georgetown Ice Arena.
Freshman defenseman Caleb Wortz of Okemos, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS) assisted on two goals to lead the Flying Dutchmen, who improved to 13-4-2-1 overall.
Freshman forward Riley Draper of Muskegon, Michigan (Reeths-Puffer HS), freshman forward Evan Augustine of Maple Grove, Minnesota (Maple Grove HS) and freshman Peter Stewart of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) all scored for Hope.
Senior goalie Eric Lipon of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) made 38 saves for the Flying Dutchmen.
On Friday, Hope lost 3-2 at Edge Ice Arena despite goals from Augustine and senior forward Ryan Restum of East Lansing, Michigan (Okemos HS).
The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22 and 23 with two home games against Central Florida.
