The Hope College ice hockey team swept Central Florida with 4-2 and 4-0 wins this weekend at Edge Ice Arena.
The Flying Dutchmen improved to 15-4-2-1 on the season.
On Saturday, senior goalie Eric Lipon of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) recorded Hope's fifth shutout of the season with 33 saves.
Four different players scored for Hope: freshman Riley Draper of Muskegon, Michigan (Reeths-Puffer HS), senior forward Jared Lehman of Carmel, Indiana (Watertown HS), sophomore forward Garrett Gormley of Fenton, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS) and freshman forward Evan Augustine of Maple Grove, Minnesota (Maple Grove HS).
On Friday, Draper, junior defenseman Elliott Digison of Midland, Michigan (Midland HS), senior forward Ryan Restum of East Lansing, Michigan (Okemos HS) and senior forward Brandon Flood of Mason, Michigan (Lansing Catholic HS) provided the offense during the 4-2 win. Lipon made 26 saves.
Hope returns to action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28-29 with a series against Aquinas.
