The Hope College men's lacrosse team is tied for fourth place in the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association preseason coaches poll.
Coach Michael Schanhals and the Flying Dutchmen finished with 28 points to share their spot with Trine.
Albion was picked to repeat as MIAA champion with 54 points and five of seven possible first-place votes. Adrian received two first-place votes, while Trine had one.
Hope is coming off a 2015 season in which the Flying Dutchmen posted a 6-10 overall record. Hope placed fifth in the MIAA standings with a 2-4 league record.
The Flying Dutchmen field a roster of 31 players, including five seniors, four juniors, seven sophomores and 15 freshmen.
Hope has three co-captains: senior defender Taylor Dever of North Barrington, Illinois (Lake Zurich HS), senior midfielder Will Dommermuth of Littleton, Colorado (Littleton HS) and junior attack Gunnar Elder of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS). Elder is pictured above.
