Box Score The Hope College women's lacrosse team made its 2016 season debut a successful one.
Junior midfielder Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS) scored four goals to lead the Flying Dutch to a 10-8 win against Otterbein, Ohio on Friday in Brighton. The nonleague match was played indoors at the Legacy Center.
Hope took control of the match in the first half. The Flying Dutch jumped out to a 7-3 halftime lead.
Senior attack Abigale Cassella of Okemos, Michigan (Okemos HS) and freshman midfielder Hannah VanAlst of Clio, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS) chipped in two goals apiece.
Freshman attack Madeline Shupe of Hinsdale, Illinois (Hinsdale Central HS) and Alexandra Webb had one goal apiece.
Sophomore Goalie Michaela Biegner of Hillsdale, Michigan (Hillsdale HS) made six saves.
Hope returns to action on Tuesday, March 1 at Aquinas. Start time is 5 p.m.
