Sophomore Garrett Gormley of Fenton, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic HS) scored three goals to lead the Hope College ice hockey team in a 12-0 win against Adrian College Black on Friday at Edge Ice Arena.

Freshman Austen Peterson of Highlands Ranch, Colorado (Rock Canyon HS)  added two goals for the Flying Dutchmen, who concluded the regular season with an 18-4-3-1 overall record and a 7-4-1 mark in the Michigan College Hockey Conference West Division play.

Goalies Eric Lipon of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) and Alex Caradonna of Rochester Hills, Michigan (Birmingham Brother Rice HS) combined for a 31-save shutout.

On Thursday, Hope skated to a 1-1 tie at Adrian. Lipon made 38 saves.

The Flying Dutchmen advance to the MCHC playoffs next weekend in Grand Rapids. They will face either Calvin or Aquinas.
