Hope Women's Track Wins Distance Medley At Hillsdale Classic

Hope College's distance medley team recorded the fastest women's time ever during the Hillsdale College Wide-Track Classic indoor meet this weekend.

Freshman Sarah Neumar of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Huron HS), sophomore Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm HS), sophomore Rachael Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS) and junior Erin Herrmann of Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) clocked a time of 12 minutes, 20.01 seconds to edge Indiana Tech at the finish line.

The performance was the fastest in the event for the Flying Dutch in outdoor or indoor competition.

Senior Julia Stock of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS) finished second in the 5,000 meters. She posted a time of 18:37.33.

Sophomore Alison Rich of Haslett, Michigan (Haslett HS) came in third in the heptathlon with 2,987 points. She was runner-up in the 800 meters at 2:36.06 and the high jump at 4-10 ½. 

Hope returns to action on Friday, Feb. 19 at the Grand Valley State University Tune Up meet.
