Hope's Distance Medley Relay Selected As MIAA Track Athletes Of The Week

The Hope College women's track & field team's distance medley relay has earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Track Athlete of the Week honors for meets through February 7.

The team of freshman Sarah Neumar of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Huron HS), sophomore Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm HS), sophomore Rachael Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS) and junior Erin Herrmann of Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) were saluted.

Hope's distance medley relay recorded a first-place effort at the Hillsdale College Wide Track Classic last weekend that ranks as the sixth-fastest nationally in NCAA Division III.

The relay turned in a winning time of 12 minutes, 20.01 seconds to edge Indiana Tech at the finish line.

The performance was the fastest in the event for the Flying Dutch in outdoor or indoor competition.
