The Hope College women's golf team won the 36-hole, two-day Wellesley Spring Break Invitational after shooting a team score of 316 for the second day in a row on Wednesday in Kissimmee, Florida.
Sophomore Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) earned medalist honors at 9-over-par at ChampionsGate Golf Club. She had a second-round, 6-over 78 for a total of 153.
Klintworth finished two strokes ahead of teammate and runner-up Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS). Meyer, pictured, had a tournament-best 76 on Wednesday.
Senior Morgan Leep of Hastings, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) placed fourth at 15-over. She fired a second-round 80.
Sophomore Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS) came in seventh at 23-over. She shot an 84 Wednesday.
Junior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS) tied for eighth at 25-over. She had an 82 during the second round.
The Flying Dutch finished 34 strokes ahead of runner-up Carthage, Wisconsin and 97 ahead of third-place Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Hope returns to action at the April 8-9 Trine Invitational in Angola, Indiana.
