Box Score The Hope College baseball team lost 2-0 to Kalamazoo in 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament second-round action on Thursday in Adrian.
The Flying Dutchmen will play an elimination game against the winner of Adrian-Alma afternoon game tonight at 6 p.m.
The winner advances to play Kalamazoo in the championship round.
Hope (23-18) outhit Kalamazoo 9-8 but could not push across a run against Kalamazoo starter Aaron Schwark.
Losing pitcher Coty Franklin of Vermontville, Michigan (Maple Valley HS0 went the distance. Franklin (5-3) scattered eight hits and two runs over eight innings. He struck out one and did not walk a batter.
Leftfielder Ryan Konkle of Marshall, Michigan (Marshall HS) led the Flying Dutchmen with two hits. Hope stranded nine runners.
