Hope finished the season with a 25-19 record.
The Flying Dutchmen threatened in the top of the ninth after back-to-back, one-out singles from first baseman Landon Brower of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) and designated hitter Luke Brower of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS).
Landon Brower then scored when Kalamazoo (24-18-1) mishandled the grounder from third baseman Danny Carrasco of Grandville, Michigan (Calvin Christian HS).
Reliever Aaron Schwark squelched the rally by inducing a game-ending, double-play grounder.
Starter Jake Chipka of Waterville, Ohio (Anthony Wayne HS) scattered seven hits and two runs over 5 1/3 innings in his second start in three days. Chipka (5-6) struck out three and walked three.
It was Hope's second appearance in the MIAA Tournament title round.
