Hope College's Erin Herrmann eclipsed her own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday at the North Central College Dr. Keeler Track & Field Meet in Naperville, Illinois. 

The junior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) clocked a runner-up time of 10 minutes, 40.44 seconds in a close race with winner Washington-St. Louis runner Alison Lindsay.

Lindsay went 10:38.03. 

Herrmann surpassed her previous best of 10:44.31 that was run on May 6 at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Field Day.
