Junior Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) and the Hope College women's golf team both finished runner-up at the 36-hole Olivet College Campbell Invitational on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch shot back-to-back team scores of 319 for a second-place total of 638. They trailed in the 12-team event only DePauw, Indiana, which came in seven strokes better after a final-round 309 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan.
Klintworth, pictured, tied for second place in the individual standings (76-79—155). She was five strokes behind the leader.
Junior Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) placed fourth (79-77—156).
Senior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores) came in seventh (83-77—160).
Junior Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) tied for 17th (81-86—167).
Senior Elena Moore of South Lyon, Michigan (East HS) tied for 31st (85-90—175).
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when it hosts the Division III Invitational at Railside Golf Club in Byron Center.
