The Hope College women's golf team maintained the overall lead in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings after a second-place finish at Saturday's jamboree in Granger, Indiana.
The Flying Dutch shot a team score of 332 at Knollwood Country Club to place three strokes behind host Saint Mary's. Olivet (339) was third.
Hope is in front of Saint Mary's by 11 strokes heading into the next MIAA Jamboree on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Flying Dutch's home course, Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.
Junior Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS) claimed low-round honors for Hope with a 9-over-par 81. She tied for fourth place.
Junior Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) came in one stroke behind Wierenga and tied for sixth.
Junior Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton) placed eighth with an 83.
Senior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores) rounded out Hope's scoring with an 11th-place 96.
Other rounds for Hope came from senior Dominique Molinaro of Burtchville, Michigan (Port Huron Northern) with a 91 and senior Elena Moore of South Lyon, Michigan (East) with a 92.
