Erin Herrmann continued her winning ways for the Hope College women's cross country team at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association event of the season.
The senior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) recorded a first-place time of 21 minutes, 21.4 seconds at the MIAA Jamboree Saturday at Pine River Country Club in Alma.
Herrmann topped a field of 139 runners for her third individual victory of the season.
Hope finished second in the team standings with 47 points. Calvin won with 29.
The Flying Dutch recorded seven of the top 19 performances at the meet.
Senior Emily Joosse of Chillicothe, Ohio (Zane Trace HS) placed 10th at 22.43.6.
Sophomore Avery Lowe of North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon) came in 11th at 22:45.6.
Junior Rachael Webb of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) took 12th in 22.50.8.
Senior Jessica Gaines of Sterling Heights, Michigan (Utica Academy) rounded out Hope's scoring in 13th at 22:54.8.
Others in the Flying Dutch's top seven were: sophomore Emily Hamilton in 15th at 23:05.9 and junior Alexis Guttilla in 19th at 23:14.1.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Louisville Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
