Hope College's Alexis Guttilla clocked the fastest 1-mile time at the season-opening Aquinas College indoor quad on Friday.
The junior from St. Charles, Illinois (Westminster Christian) recorded a run of 5 minutes, 24.84 seconds during the nonscoring meet.
Guttilla was joined by three teammates in the top five: freshman Hannah Kenny of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven) with a second-place effort of 5:33.63, freshman Sally Hansma of Jenison, Michigan (Jenison) in third at 5:35.50, and freshman Alicia Bostwick of Zionsville, Indiana (Zionsville Community) in fifth at 5:40.81.
Junior Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm) came in second in the 400 meters at 1:01.51.
Junior Alison Rich of Haslett, Michigan (Haslett) finished third in the high jump at 1.47 meters (4 feet, 9 ¾ inches).
Guttilla took fourth in the 800 meters at 2:29.96. Freshman Sophia Vander Kooy of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit) was fifth at 2:30.92.
The Flying Dutch's 4x440 relay was fifth at 4:14.46 behind runs from freshman Nicole Kruithof of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian), freshman Hailey Pickelheimer of Powell, Ohio (Olentangy Liberty), freshman Chelsea Miskelley of Holland, Michigan (Black River), and Satkiewicz.
Hope's next meet is the February 4 Windy City Invitational at the University of Chicago.
