The Hope College ice hockey team skated to a 5-1 victory against the University of Michigan in its American College Hockey Association home opener on Friday at Griff's Ice House West.
The Flying Dutchmen dropped Saturday's rematch 6-3 in Canton to put themselves at 3-1 on the season.
On Friday, Austen Peterson, pictured, scored twice to lead a decisive three-goal period for the Flying Dutchmen.
Cam Wiederhoeft had the game-winning goal in the second period.
Goalie Austin Kane made 31 saves.
On Saturday, Michigan recorded a three-goal third period to break a tie score.
Max Mones and Caleb Wortz each collected a goal and an assist for Hope.
