Hope College's Andrew Caris has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week of April 3-9.
The freshman defender from Hartland, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central HS) was a key factor for the Flying Dutchmen as they won their first two MIAA matches of the season last week.
In a 15-9 win against Alma on April 5, Caris held the Scots' top scorer to just one goal while gathering two ground balls with a caused turnover. He also scored a goal.
Against Adrian on April 8, Caris helped hold the Bulldogs to just two goals with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
This is the first time Caris has received a weekly honor from the MIAA and the fourth this season for a Flying Dutchmen player.
