Women's Track & Field Puts Three On USTFCCCA All-Region Team

A Hope College trio has earned all-region honors from the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2017 outdoor track & field season: Erin Herrmann, Alison Rich and Rachael Webb.

The top-five individuals in each event within a region are recognized along with the top-three relay teams. Hope is in the Great Lakes Region.

Herrmann picked up all-region recognition in three events: the 3,000-meter steeplechase, 1,500-meter run and 5,000 meters. The senior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) has qualified for nationals in the steeplechase for the third consecutive season.

Herrmann was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Most Valuable Runner this season.

Rich, pictured above middle, is all-region in the heptathlon. The junior from Haslett, Michigan (Haslett) has qualified for nationals in the event.

Webb, pictured above at right, is all-region in the 800 meters. She is a junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville).

A total of 946 women's track & field athletes claimed all-region recognition this season.
