Nancy Benda completed a decorated Hope College tennis career on Thursday with a first-round loss at the NCAA Division III Individual Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The senior from Birmingham, Michigan (Seaholm HS) fell to fifth-seeded Brooke Donnelly of Washington & Lee 6-0, 6-3 in the round of 32.
Benda closed her season with a 22-7 singles record — tied for ninth-most all-time by a Flying Dutch player.
Benda ended her career with a 71-34 overall record. She has the fifth-most career singles wins by a Flying Dutch player.
This was Benda's second trip to individual nationals.
