Hope College's Alison Rich is in 13th place after the first day of the heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday in Geneva, Ohio.

The junior from Haslett, Michigan (Haslett) totaled 2,612 points after four events. She is with 77 points of ninth place.

Rich recorded the eighth-place high jump by clearing 1.55 meters (5 feet, 1 inch).

Rich took 12th in both the 110 hurdles at 15.53 seconds and the shot put at 9.54 meters (31-3 ¾).

Rich was 20th in the 200 meters with a run of 27.61 seconds.

Rochester's Kylee Bartlett leads with 3,102 points.
