Abby Meder fired a team-low 78 to lead the Hope College women's golf team during the final round of the 36-hole, two-day Carthage Shootout on the Border in Bristol, Wisconsin.
The Flying Dutch came in second place out of 17 teams with a score of 660. They finished 11 strokes behind first-place Wisconsin Whitewater.
Freshman Jordyn Rioux of Farmington, Michigan (Livonia Ladywood HS), placed runner-up among individual golfers (79-81—160). She was one stroke off the individual lead after her round Saturday at Bristol Oaks Golf Club.
Senior Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton) took third place (80-81—161).
Meder, a freshman from Lansing, Michigan (Catholic Central), tied for ninth place (87-78—165). She is pictured.
Freshman Carley Laird of Traverse City, Michigan (Central), rounded out Hope's scoring (89-85—174).
