The Hope College women's golf team tightened the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association race with a four-stroke victory in jamboree play on Saturday in Angola, Indiana.
The Flying Dutch shot a team score of 330 to finish ahead of runner-up Saint Mary's and move within one stroke of the Belles after 36 holes.
Senior Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) carded a 5-over-par 77 at Zollner Golf Course to place second overall.
Freshman Jordyn Rioux of Farmington, Michigan (Livonia Ladywood) chipped in an 82 and came in fourth.
Freshmen Carley Laird of Traverse City, Michigan (Central), pictured, and Abby Meder of Lansing, Michigan (Catholic Central) rounded out Hope's scoring with 14th-place 86s.
The Flying Dutch also received a 91 from junior Ariana Stewart of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Comstock).
