The Megan Klintworth-led Hope College women's golf team charged into Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association lead with a 10-stroke victory Wednesday in Grand Rapids.
Klintworth carded a MIAA-course record, 2-over-par 74 at Thornapple Pointe Golf Club for the jamboree's low round. The senior from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton) recorded two birdies and 10 pars on the 5,801-yard course.
Hope finished with a team score of 330 that was 10 strokes better than runner-up Saint Mary's and 13 ahead of third-place Alma.
The Flying Dutch overtook Saint Mary's in the overall standings and lead by nine strikes over 54 holes. There are 54 holes remaining to determine the regular-season champion.
