Senior Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) and freshman Jordyn Rioux of Farmington, Michigan (Livonia Ladywood) both carded 82s to lead the Hope College women's golf team during the first round of the Olivet College Kyle Campbell Invitational on Friday.
The Flying Dutch are tied for third place after 18 holes with North Central, Illinois with a team score of 344. DePauw, Indiana is the first-round leader at 314, while Olivet is in second at 342.
The second and final round of the 12-team event at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall tees off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 9.
Klintworth and Rioux are tied for eighth place individually after shooting 10-over-par. They are seven strokes off the individual lead.
Freshman Abby Meder of Lansing, Michigan (Catholic Central) shot an 89.
Freshman Vanessa Drust of Constantine, Michigan (Constantine) rounded out Hope's scoring with a 91.
Sophomore Ariana Stewart of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Comstock) had a 97.
