The Hope College women's indoor track & field team started the season on a winning note with first-place performances in six individual events and the team standings Friday at the Aquinas Quad in Grand Rapids.
The Flying Dutch finished with 180 points.
Senior Alexis Guttilla of St. Charles, Illinois (Westminster Christian) led Hope with first-place runs both the 800 meters at 2 minutes, 27.12 seconds and the 1-mile run at 5:23.09.
Senior Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm) finished first in the 400 meters by clocking a time of 1:02.51.
Junior Emily Hamilton of Naperville, Illinois (North) won the 3,000 meters in 10:41.35.
Junior Amanda Bentley of Somonauk, Illinois (Somonauk) and senior Ashley Warner of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) went 1-2 in the 1000 meters with runs of 33:31.79 and 3:32.79, respectively.
In the triple jump, sophomore Addyson Gerig of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) and sophomore Hannah Bredeweg of Zionsville, Indiana (Zionsville) finished first and second with leaps of 9.98 meters (32 feet, 9 inches) and 9.66 meters (31-8 ½), respectively.
Senior Rachael Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville) placed second in the 600 meters with a time of 1:40.90.
The 4x400 relay of sophomore Nicole Kruithof of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian), Webb, sophomore Hailey Pickelheimer of Powell, Ohio (Olentangy Liberty), and Satkiewicz was runner-up at 4:17.56.
Senior Haley Fischman of Grand Ledge, Michigan (Lansing Catholic Central) came in second in the shot put with a toss of 10.58 meters (34-8 ½).
Junior Avery Lowe of North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon) placed third in the 1-mile at 5:31.31.
Sophomore Chelsea Miskelley of Holland, Michigan (Black River) took third in the 800 at 230.11.
Hope finished ahead of Aquinas (155.5), Spring Arbor (142), and Alma (89.5).
