Hope College's Rachael Webb set an indoor 1-mile school record at the Grand Valley State University Tune-Up on Friday in Allendale.

The senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS) clocked a third-place time of 5 minutes, 3.86 seconds.

Webb surpassed the previous Hope record of 5:07.70 held by Sheri McCormack since 2014.

The school record is the second set by the Flying Dutch this season. Haley Fischman of Grand Ledge, Michigan (Lansing Catholic Central) bettered her own weight throw mark with a toss of 14.35 meters (44 feet, 1 1/2 inches).

At GVSU, Webb finished behind only Danielle Barnes, an unattached runner who went 4:57.13, and GVSU's Madison Goen, who went 4:58.98.

Webb also helped the 4x400 relay win its race.

Webb ran the second leg of the relay and teamed with sophomore Nicole Kruithof of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian), sophomore Chelsea Miskelley of Holland, Michigan (Black River), and senior Rachel Satkiewicz of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Seaholm) clocked a first-place time of 4 minutes, 9.80 seconds.

The Flying Dutch's second relay in the event took third. Sophomore Sophia Vander Kooy of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit), sophomore Emily Jackson of Grayling, Michigan (Grayling), freshman Jacinda Cole of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa), and sophomore Natalie Meyer of Plainfield, Illinois (South) went 4:22.19.

Hope took second in three events.

Satkiewicz finished runner-up in the 400 meters by clocking a time of 1:00.02. Kruithof was fifth at 1:02.79, while sophomore Hailey Pickelheimer of Powell, Ohio (Olentangy Liberty) was seventh at 1:03.66.

Satkiewicz also came in sixth in the 200 meters with a run of 27.10 seconds.

Sophomore Addyson Gerig of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) cleared 1.55 meters (5 feet, 1 inch) in the high jump to tie for second place.

Senior Alison Rich of Haslett, Michigan (Haslett) leaped 4.81 meters (15-9 ½) for second place in the long jump. Sophomore Mitchel Achien'g of Nairobi, Kenya (Kisumu) was seventh at 4.66 meters (15-3 ½), while Gerig was eighth at 4.38 meters (14-4 ½).

Gerig placed fifth in the triple jump at 10.13 meters (33-3) and was followed by two teammates: sophomore Hannah Bredeweg of Zionsville, Indiana (Zionsville) in sixth at 9.56 meters (31-4 1-2) and sophomore Jamie VanderZwaag of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) in seventh at 9.53 meters (31-3 ¼).

Miskelley took fourth in the 800 meters at 2:23.42.

Freshman Nicole Prihoda of Portage, Michigan (Central) placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:48.68.

Sophomore Anna Frazee of Watervliet, Michigan (Home School) clocked a sixth-place, 3,000-meter performance of 10:59.02.

Achien'g and Rich qualified for the finals in the 60-meter hurdles and were seventh and eighth, respectively, with runs of 9.90 and 10.22.

Achien'g finished eighth in the 60 meters with a time of 8.27 seconds.
