Evan Fall scored twice and added an assist to help the Hope College ice hockey team to a 7-3 victory against Adrian on Saturday in Grand Rapids and qualify for the American Collegiate Hockey Association national tournament for the first time in three seasons.
The Flying Dutchmen (21-6-2 overall) are heading to nationals March 8-18 in Columbus, Ohio.
Fall delivered one of three second-period goals that enabled Hope to break a scoreless tie after the first period.
Six different Flying Dutchmen recorded goals, including Fall. Others to contribute goals were: Austen Peterson, Noah Arent, Max Mones, Peter Stewart, and Riley Draper.
Goalie Austin Kane made 33 saves in two periods of play.
Hope last made the national tournament in 2015. The Flying Dutchmen have finished national runner-up four times: 2014, 2011, 2010, and 2003.
