Hope College guard Jason Beckman has received second-team all-region honors from D3hoops.com and second-team all-district honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches for his play during the 2017-18 season.

The junior from Shelby, Michigan (Shelby HS) was one of 10 student-athletes in the Great Lakes Region honored by the NABC and 15 in the Great Lakes Region recognized by D3hoops.

Beckman averaged a team-leading 22.2 points per game for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-champion Flying Dutchmen, who finished with a 19-10 record after reaching the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Beckman's 645 points for the season are the second most in team history.

Beckman recorded the highest-scoring average by a Hope player since the 1971-72 season when Dan Shinabarger netted 25.7 points per game.

Beckman finished among the national leaders with school-record, foul shooting of 91.4 percent (149-163).

Beckman equaled Floyd Brady's 1968 school record for most free throws in a game when he made 19 during an MIAA Tournament championship victory at Olivet.

Beckman shot 49.7 percent from the field (220-443) and 40.9 from 3-point range (56-137).

Beckman posted two 40-point games this season: 44 at Aquinas and 41 at home against Alma.
