Junior Emily Hamilton of Naperville, Illinois (North HS) finished runner-up in the 10,000 meters to lead the Hope College women's outdoor track & field team this weekend at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee.
Hamilton, pictured, clocked a second-place time of 36 minutes, 48.10 seconds for her place among 20 runners in a field that included NCAA Division I, II and III competitors. It was a nonscoring meet.
High jumper Addyson Gerig placed fifth. The sophomore from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) recorded a leap of 1.52 meters (4 feet, 11 ¾ inches).
Hope's 4xx800 relay came in fifth.
Sophomore Chelsea Miskelley of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa), sophomore Sophia Vander Kooy of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit Prep), sophomore Emily Jackson of Grayling, Michigan (Grayling), and senior Rachael Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville) recorded a time of 9:42.27.
Freshman Jacinda Cole of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) took sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:24.09.
Hope's 4x100 relay came in eighth with sophomore Hannah Huizen of Jenison, Michigan (Jenison), senior Rachel Anderson of Muskegon, Michigan (Mona Shores), freshman Emily Tyner of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Skyline), and sophomore Mitchel Achien' g of Nairobi, Kenya (Kisumu) posting a run of 52.09 seconds.
