Hope College's Max Kuiper and Gareth Ulmer both have been honored by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association for their lacrosse performances last week.

Kuiper was named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Ulmer chosen Defensive Player of the Week for their contributions to the Flying Dutchmen's nonleague victories against Concordia, Michigan and Monmouth, Illinois last week.

Kuiper, pictured at left, tallied 12 points over two matches, including five goals and seven assists.

In a 13-5 win vs. Concordia on Tuesday, the sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS) collected two goals and five assists.

In a 12-3 win at Monmouth on Saturday, Kuiper registered three goals and two assists with two ground balls.

Ulmer, pictured at right, helped the Flying Dutchmen yield only eight goals.

On Tuesday, the sophomore from Delaware, Ohio (Rutherford B. Hayes) had nine caused turnovers and picked up five ground balls.

On Saturday, Ulmer recorded two caused turnovers and registered three ground balls. Hope shut out Monmouth during the second half.
