Dear Hope family,
Thank you for four years of unconditional belief. Whether we were in a slump or on a hot streak, whether it was a frigid March afternoon or a beautiful May evening, whether we were as far away as Clermont, Florida, or as close to home as Wolters Stadium, you have cheered us on to victory. Each season, we know that you are anything but fair-weather fans, always watching the live stats, the live stream videos, and the games in person, and we hope you know that the love is mutual. We so greatly appreciate the way you encourage us to pursue our dreams of winning on and off the field. As we go on to careers in all different fields, we will always remember the wholehearted support you gave us, and we will always bleed orange and blue. Sincerely, Hayley Reitsma, Hope Softball
Dear Hope and Holland Community,
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the role you play in supporting Hope athletes. I grew up here; I was raised hearing about the infamous Hope-Calvin games, and attending various sporting events at Hope. I never dreamed I would end up here, competing in front of the community I grew up in, but I am so incredibly blessed that I did. I chose Hope because of its academic AND athletic excellence, a legacy that I am proud to carry, if only for the few short years that I am privileged to do so. Seeing community members show up to support DIII athletics, especially when they belong to MY community, has transformed my sense of pride, not just in Hope, but also in you, Holland. So thank you. From all of us. Whether you're a one-sport fan, or show up to everything; whether you have a child or grandchild competing, or just want to cheer us on; whether Hope is your alma mater, or you've adopted Hope as "your school," thank you. Your support means more than you know. Fire Up Dutch!!! Sincerely, Sydney Asselin, Hope Swimming
Dear Hope,
As a senior athlete about to graduate, I'd like to say thank you—for many things. Thank you for allowing me to be a student-athlete and not compromise my education to play the sport I love. Thank you for providing me with exceptional facilities, athletic trainers, coaches, and fans. Thank you for pushing me to grow in my faith, academics, and athletics and providing me with the opportunities to do so. Thank you for ensuring that my experience as a DIII athlete has been transformational by pouring into coaches that create cultures that are about more than just winning, but treating players as people that can go out and impact the world. Thank you for instilling in me the value of relationships and servant leadership, while also pushing me to be the best athlete possible. Thanks for walking alongside me in my journey here, because it has certainly been an impactful one. To all fans, students, teammates, coaches, athletic directors, donors, custodians, community members, friends, and family, thank you for making my four years at Hope ones to remember. Sincerely, Mallory Beswick, Women's Soccer
