Hope College's Alison Rich finished 18th in the nation in the heptathlon on Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The senior from Haslett, Michigan (Haslett HS) totaled 4,139 points during the two-day, seven-event competition.
On Friday, Rich earned her most points in the final event - the 800 meters. She recorded a run of 2 minutes, 31.71 seconds.
In the long jump, she went 5.19 meters (17-1). She threw the javelin 33.62 meters (110-4).
On Thursday, Rich ran 16.17 seconds in the 110 hurdles and 28.94 seconds in the 200 meters.
She cleared 1.48 meters (4-10 ¼) in the high jump and tossed 9.80 meters (29-2 ¼) in the shot put.
This was Rich's second appearance at nationals in the heptathlon.
