ACHA Hockey Earns Split With Grand Valley State University

The Hope College American Collegiate Hockey Association team split with Grand Valley University this weekend, winning on Saturday on the road after losing Friday at home.

The Flying Dutchmen are now 19-3-1 overall and top the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference West Division with a 9-1 division record.

On Saturday, Austen Peterson registered a hat trick against GVSU during a 7-1 victory.

Forwards Riley Draper, Brendan Sanders, and Noah Weigle contributed one goal apiece.

Goalie Austin Kane, pictured, stopped 38 shots against GVSU (16-5-3 overall, 8-1 MCHC West).

During Friday's 3-1 loss, Riley Draper scored for the Flying Dutchmen. Brad Baysore had the assist.

Kane stopped 38 shots in goal.

Hope returns to competition this weekend with a series against the University of Michigan-Flint. The Flying Dutchmen host Michigan-Flint on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Griff's IceHouse West.
