Men's Tennis Tops Western Michigan At No. 1 Doubles

Hope College's Danny Kroeze and Mark VanderStoep defeated Western Michigan University's No. 1 doubles team on Friday during a non-league match in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Kroeze, a junior from Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian), pictured left, and VanderStoep, a senior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), pictured right, downed Jack Randall and Peter Kuszynski 6-4.

Western Michigan won, 7-0, after taking all six singles matches in straight sets.

In NCAA Division I tennis, the cumulative result of all three doubles matches are worth one point.

The Flying Dutchmen are now 2-2 on the season.

Hope's next match is Saturday, March 2 with the 10 a.m. home opener against Denison College (Ohio) at DeWitt Tennis Center.
