Men's Tennis Loses To No. 25-Ranked Denison

The Hope College men's tennis team lost to 25th-ranked Denison University (Ohio), 8-1, on Saturday at DeWitt Tennis Center.

The Flying Dutchmen earned their point at No. 1 doubles.

Senior Mark VanderStoep of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) and junior Danny Kroeze of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) defeated Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein at No. 1 doubles, 8-6.

At No. 1 singles, VanderStoep was edged by Denison's Vlad Rotnov, 6-4, 6-4.

At No. 4 singles, junior Alec Berrodin of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern) fell to Kevin Brown, 6-3, 6-4.

At No. 2 singles, senior Tim Roe of Bakersfield, California (Frontier) lost to Mitchell Thai, 6-4, 6-2.

Hope's next match is Tuesday, March 19 vs. Bethel University (Minnesota) in Orlando, Florida.
