Laurel Frederickson Claims MIAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Honor

Hope College goalie Laurel Frederickson has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Alto, Michigan (Caledonia HS) averaged 13 saves over three matches and helped the Flying Dutch win twice in Hilton Head, S.C.

On Friday, Frederickson recorded 15 saves during a 12-11 overtime win against Frostburg State University (Maryland).

On Wednesday, Frederickson made 10 saves during a 12-4 victory against Allegheny College (Pennsylvania).

On Monday, March 18, Frederickson totaled 16 saves during a 14-10 loss to Virginia Wesleyan University.

Frederickson is receiving the honor for the first time in her career.
