Hope College's Mark VanderStoep has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
The senior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) went undefeated in singles and doubles play last week while helping the Flying Dutchmen win two matches and stay undefeated in league play.
VanderStoep won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles at Trine University on Saturday and 6-4, 6-1 at home against Calvin College on April 9.
At No. 1 doubles, VanderStoep teamed with partner Danny Kroeze of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) for an 8-0 victory against Trine and an 8-2 victory against Calvin.
This is the second time in his career VanderStoep has been named MIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week and the first time this season.
