Hope College's Mason Opple has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Baseball Position Player of the Week.

The junior right fielder from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) is honored after batting .500 with four runs batted in over three games in last week — all Flying Dutchmen victories.

Opple went 6-for-12 with one double and five singles. He batted 4-for-6 during a 4-3, 11-inning victory against Trine University on Friday, including a walk-off single.

This is Opple's second MIAA Position Player of the Week honor of the season and his baseball career.

Opple has been named MIAA Football Player of the Week twice in his career.
