Jack Crawford, Men's Golf — During his freshman season, Crawford finished MIAA play with a scoring average of 74.5 strokes. This average was fifth best in the league and earned Crawford All-MIAA First Team honors.
Zach Elmore, Men's Track & Field — As a freshman, Elmore won the pole vault with a leap of 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 inches) at the 2020 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. This was the first time Hope has won the men's pole vault during the indoor season. Elmore received All-MIAA honors.
Alec Belcastro, Men's Soccer — A sophomore transfer, Belcastro had a breakout season for the Flying Dutchmen. He scored 10 goals on the season and had eight assists. Belcastro was also an asset for Hope on defense with his exceptional 1v1 skills. He was named MIAA Newcomer of the Year and received All-MIAA First Team honors.
Gabe Boonstra, Men's Swimming & Diving — After Boonstra's freshman season, he holds three school records, one MIAA record, and is an NCAA Qualifier. At the 2019 MIAA Swimming & Diving Championships, Boonstra was league champion in the 200-yard freestyle and was a member of the winning 800-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relays. He was named to the All-MIAA team.
Liam Cunningham, Men's Lacrosse — Cunningham made an impact for the Flying Dutchmen during his freshman season in 2019 as he scooped 51 ground balls, caused 22 turnovers, scored 13 goals and had nine assists. His speed created opportunities for Hope to attack in transition which created many offensive chances. Cunningham was named to the All-MIAA Second Team.
Shane Hykin, Baseball — In 2019, Hykin was the starting pitcher in seven games for Hope and had a total of 11 appearances during his freshman season. He finished with a 4-2 record and pitched one complete game. Hykin was the starting pitcher for the Flying Dutchmen in the MIAA Tournament Championship game.
Evan Thomas, Men's Basketball — Thomas came off the bench early in the season, was inserted in the starting line-up by game six, and was incredibly productive for Hope. He scored in double-figures in 19 of the 25 games and passed the 20-point mark in three games, including a season-high of 24 points in a win at Kalamazoo. For the season, Thomas averaged 14.6 points-per-game and 6.8 rebounds-per-game, both which were top performances by a freshman in the MIAA.
Sam Allbritten, Football — After finishing his career with the men's soccer team, Albritten joined the football team as a kicker for his final semester at Hope. Prior to this season he had never played a competitive football game in his life. Allbritten made 60 of 63 extra points after touchdowns and completed five field goals with a long of 46 yards. He finished second on the team in scoring this year.
