Sarah Mikesell's late heroics helped the Hope College women's soccer team earn a 1-1 draw at Albion College in a matchup of third-place teams in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
The senior forward scored with 8 minutes, 10 seconds remaining in regulation on a low left shot.
The teams remained deadlocked the rest of the way, including two 10-minute overtime periods.
Hope (8-3-1 overall) and Albion (7-2-1) are now tied for fourth place with 2-1-1 league records.
The Flying Dutch pulled even after trailing for 60 minutes.
Albion grabbed a 1-0 lead on a Rayna Edwards goal 21:35 into the first half.
Mikesell (Norton Shores, Michigan / Mona Shores), pictured, delivered the equalizer off an assist from freshman forward Margaret Owsiany (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville Central).
It was Mikesell's seventh goal of the season — a career-high — and the 16th of her career.
Hope outshot the Britons by a 16-9 margin. Eleven of them were on goal.
Goalie Isabelle Bertolone (Muskegon, Michigan / Muskegon Catholic Central) made five saves for the Flying Dutch.
Hope's next game is Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. against Adrian College at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. It is Senior Day for the Flying Dutch.
