Four MIAA Jamborees played, four MIAA Jamborees won.
The Hope College women's golf team claimed another league Jamboree by firing a team total of 316 at The Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe on Saturday. The Flying Dutch have not only won each conference round they've played in this season but also all of their non-conference competition, too.
Host Calvin University was runner-up with 326, while Saint Mary's College finished in third place with 331 and Adrian College took fourth with 333.
Going into its last two rounds of the season at the MIAA Fall Finish next weekend, Hope College has a commanding 36-stroke lead over second-place Calvin in the league standings. The Flying Dutch have 1,296 total strokes while the Knights have 1,332. The Belles of Saint Mary's are third overall with 1,345 while the Adrian Bulldogs are fourth with 1.346.
Three Hope players finished in the top-five of the individual standings on Saturday at Thornapple Pointe.
Junior Grace VanDellen of Oxford, Michigan (Lutheran North) continued her steady run of going low by carding a four-over 76. She finished third and leads the league in stroke average with a 78.25. Senior Megan Jenkinson of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City West) took fourth place with a round of 77 while sophomore Emlin Munch of Traverse City (Traverse City Central) tied for fifth by recording a 78.
Also for Hope, junior Rita Cheney of Mason, Michigan (Mason) shot an 85 and senior Megan Radaz of Alma, Michigan (Alma) an 87.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Abby Fansler of Muskegon, Michigan (Reeths-Puffer) finished with an 84.
The Flying Dutch and the other MIAA teams conclude their season at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek for the Fall Finish on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9. Tee time on Friday is at 1 p.m. and on Saturday at 10 a.m.
