Hannah Mitroff made a timely impact for the Hope College women's soccer team.
The senior midfielder from Rochester Hills, Michigan (Stoney Creek HS) had a foot in both Flying Dutch goals in a 2-0 victory at Alma College on Wednesday.
Mitroff, pictured, assisted on Sarah Mikesell's first-half goal and scored her first career goal in the second half.
Hope improved to 9-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in MIAA play.
Mitroff set up Mikesell (Norton Shores, Michigan / Mona Shores) to break a scoreless tie with 6 minutes, 5 seconds remaining before halftime.
Mikesell raised her career-high total for the season to eight goals. The senior forward has 17 career goals as well.
Mitroff added an insurance goal 12:56 into the second half against Alma (4-9, 2-4 MIAA).
Junior defender Erin Powers (Norton Shores, Michigan / Mona Shores) registered her third career assist and first of the season.
Hope outshot Alma, 21-8, and recorded a 12-2 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Taylor Newhof (Caledonia, Michigan / South Christian) made two saves in her first career start for the Flying Dutch.
Hope's next three games are at home.
On Thursday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m., the Flying Dutch play Adrian College at Van Andel Soccer Stadium in a makeup of the game postponed on October 16.
On Saturday, Oct. 23, at noon, Hope hosts Kalamazoo College.
On Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m., the Flying Dutch face Olivet College at Van Andel Soccer Stadium in their last regular-season game.
