The Hope College men's soccer team lost in the semifinals of the MIAA Tournament at Kalamazoo College, 2-0, on Wednesday.
The Flying Dutchmen are 11-4-3 on the season.
Hope now must wait to see if the Flying Dutchmen receive one of 21 Pool C bids to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The 64-team field is announced on NCAA.com on Monday, Nov. 8, at 1:30 p.m.
Second-seeded Kalamazoo College will host the MIAA title game on Saturday, Nov. 6, after fourth-seeded Trine University upset top-seeded Calvin University, 1-0 in overtime, on Wednesday.
Against Kalamazoo, Hope yielded goals late in each half.
Chad Ewing's goal with 10 minutes remaining in the first half broke a scoreless tie. Aidan Gillag's goal with 11 minutes left in the second half sealed the win for the Hornets (11-3-3).
Hope put up eight shots to Kalamazoo's nine.
Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Hesselbein (Barrington, Illinois / Barrington Community) made four saves for the Flying Dutchmen.
