The Hope College ice hockey team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday with a 7-2 road defeat to Aquinas College's American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 team.
The Flying Dutchmen (4-1 overall) faced Aquinas at Southside Ice Arena in Byron Center after Lawrence Tech University's Division 1 and 3 teams postponed their weekend series with both teams due to COVID-19 protocols.
Jake Adams and Kevin Healy accounted for Hope's goals.
Goalie Lukas Schut stopped 50 shots for the Flying Dutchmen.
Hope is scheduled to return to the ice on Friday-Saturday, February 26-27 with a two-game series against the University of Michigan's ACHA Division 3 team.
The Flying Dutchmen host the finale of the series on Saturday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Griff's IceHouse West.
