Jacob Burkett won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Hope College men's tennis team during a 6-3 loss to Kalamazoo College on Friday at DeWitt Tennis Center.
The sophomore from Clarkston, Michigan (Clarkston HS) defeated Kalamazoo's Daniel Henry at No 1 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Burkett, pictured, also teamed with sophomore Matt Henkel (Traverse City/T.C. Central) for an 8-7 (2) victory at No. 1 doubles against Kalamazoo's Jai Banerji and Daniel Henry.
The Flying Dutchmen (0-4) earned their other point at No. 2 singles where sophomore Cameron Coates of Stevensville, Michigan (Laurel Springs) topped Kalamazoo's Casey Johnson.
Hope's next match is Saturday, February 27 against NCAA Division II Ferris State University at 3 p.m. at DeWitt Tennis Center.
