The top-ranked Hope College women's basketball team will open the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament at home on Monday, March 1 against Kalamazoo College.
Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The Flying Dutch (13-0 overall) are the top seed for the eight-team tournament. The field was determined by a vote of the league's coaches because the entire regular-season schedule could not be played. Kalamazoo (0-10) is seeded eighth.
The remaining seeds are Trine University (No. 2), Albion College (No. 3), Alma College (No. 4), Calvin University (No. 5), Adrian College (No. 6), Olivet College (No. 7).
Monday's winners advanced to the semifinals on Wednesday, March 3 at the sites of the highest remaining seeds. The championship game is Saturday, March 6 at a time to be determined at the site of the highest remaining seed.
MIAA Tournament Bracket
Hope is seeking to claim its 16th MIAA Tournament title and second in a row. The Flying Dutch defeated Trine, 59-55, in the 2020 championship game.
The Flying Dutch are on a 42-game winning streak dating back to November 8, 2019. It is the second-longest win streak in program history and the ninth-longest in NCAA Division III history.
Hope has defeated Kalamazoo twice this season: 111-30 on February 6 on the road and 101-37 on February 27 at home.
