The winner of the Hope-Calvin game advances to face either second-seeded Trine University or third-seeded Albion College in the final on Saturday, March 6 at a time to be determined. The highest remaining seed will host the game.
Hope is seeking its 16th MIAA Tournament championship this week. The Flying Dutch have advanced to the MIAA Tournament final 19 times, including the past three seasons in a row.
The Flying Dutch are 53-12 all-time in MIAA Tournament games (81.5 winning percentage) and 11-8 all-time against Calvin in postseason history (57.9 winning percentage. Hope's last postseason win in the series was a 78-46 victory in the 2020 semifinals at DeVos Fieldhouse. Calvin's last postseason was a 67-65 victory in the 2017 semifinals at Trine.
Hope and Calvin have played two overtime games against each other in the MIAA Tournament. The Flying Dutch won 63-58 in the 2018 semifinals at DeVos Fieldhouse and 73-71 in the 2001 semifinals. Hope is 4-1 against Calvin all-time in overtime games.
Hope enters the Calvin game on a 43-game winning streak that dates back to the first game of the 2019-20 season. The win streak is the ninth-longest in Division III women's basketball history and the second-longest in program history. Hope won 44 games in a row over two seasons from December 3, 2005 through January 13, 2007.
The Flying Dutch's last loss happened 732 days ago — on March 2, 2019 with a 79-49 loss at Wartburg College (Iowa) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Hope has been ranked No. 1 in the D3hoops.com poll all season. The Flying Dutch have held the top spot since the final poll of the 2019-20 season.

Hope is 29-0 all-time when scoring 100 or more points. The Flying Dutch's highest-scoring game all-time came in 126-56 at North Central (Illinois) during the 2013-14 season.
Senior guard Kenedy Schoonveld (Zeeland, Michigan/Holland Christian) needs six points to pass Amy Baltmanis '03 Edwards for 10th place all-time on Hope's scoring leaders. Schoonveld has 1,090 points in 102 games. Amanda Kerkstra '03 Williams is the Flying Dutch's all-time leading scorer with 1,568 points in 107 games.
Head coach Brian Morehouse has a career record of 625-90 overall record, including a 49-9 mark in MIAA Tournament games. He is the fastest basketball coach to reach 600 wins in NCAA history, at any level.
Brian Morehouse is 44-22 in games against Calvin since 1996-97. Calvin coach Mark Christner is 0-5 in games against Hope.
