Charlotte Brecht hardly missed.
The 5-11 middle hitter buried a career-high 12 kills with a blistering .668 hitting percentage during the Hope College volleyball team's 3-0 win victory against Olivet College on Wednesday.
The 16th-ranked Flying Dutch raised their record to 6-0 overall and MIAA play with the 25-7, 25-12, 25-23 Senior Day victory at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Prior to the match, Hope honored two seniors: setter Adair Cutler of Lansing, Michigan (Lansing Christian) and outside hitter Rose Thompson of Coopersville, Michigan (Unity Christian.
In her third start of the season, Brecht, pictured, surpassed her previous career-high of 10 kills with an efficient swing. The sophomore made only one hitting error in 16 attack attempts.
Brecht finished one kill behind teammate McKenna Otto.
Otto was on target as well. The junior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton North) hit a .650 clip with zero errors in 20 attack attempts.
Hope's team attack percentage ended up at a season-high .320.
Junior Ana Grunewald (Grand Rapids, Michigan/East Grand Rapids) chipped in seven kills.
Junior setter Tracy Westra (Clarendon Hills, Illinois/Timothy Christian) and Cutler directed the offense with 18 and 17, assists, respectively.
Freshman libero Maggie Wehrmeyer (Holland, Michigan/West Ottawa) collected a team-high 18 digs against Olivet (0-6).
Hope's next match is Friday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Calvin University.
